Text Box: About Baby Alpaca
The term ‘Baby’ refers to the fineness of the fibre coming from the first or second
shear of the youngest animals.

Despite being fine it is a long staple fibre which, when worsted spun,
produces a very strong yarn, and represents by far the finest portion of the alpaca clip.

Similar in handle to cashmere it’s actually more durable and since its production is very limited you could say it was more exclusive!

At the core of each alpaca fibre are air filled cells which provide excellent insulation
making it both incredibly warm and lightweight to wear.

For those concerned about skin sensitivity
the minimal lanolin content in alpaca makes it almost hypoallergenic, unlike most wool.
