Text Box: About Our Yarns Shetland Flame Designed by John Hewitt Shetland Flame is a chunky blend of 96% Fine Shetland Wool and 4% Nylon with a ‘slub’ that creates a variable thickness to the finished yarn. It knits up on large needles making it great for new knitters wanting to see fast results and the wonderful textural irregularities in the finished fabric mean there’s no need to worry about perfect tension! As well as classic White we also have five delicately dyed organic colours ~ Tormentil, Tea, Catecu, Cochineal and Walnut ~ each created by using natural dyes. Chunkywool Also designed by John, ‘Chunkywool’ is a softly spun yarn that is 96% Ultrafine Australian Merino Wool wrapped with a very fine filament of Nylon. The result is a chunky yarn that knits up with a more regular appearance than the Shetland Flame but with the same lightweight results.
